A sculptural, exceptionally large Swedish folk art root bowl (knotskål). Hand-carved from a single solid piece of birch root, this rare piece features an undulating, organic silhouette dictated entirely by the natural growth of the timber. The exterior retains wonderful, authentic traces of its original Scandinavian pink earth-pigment paint, contrasting beautifully with a deeply patinated interior. At 47cm long, its low-profile, elongated form makes it a magnificent centerpiece for a rustic table
