French Impressionist Coastal Oil Painting

An authentic French Impressionist landscape painting executed in oil on a solid wood artist panel. The composition depicts a coastal river estuary scene featuring masted dinghies on a sandy tidal shoreline, rendered with thick impasto brushwork. The painting has recently been housed in an original period ebonised wood frame, which features a wide border decorated with a repeating punched gilt foliate design.

The reverse of the panel retains a crisp, historical stenciled trade stamp from the Parisian art supply shop G. Sennelier (3 Quai Voltaire, Paris). The stamp text reads "En face le Pont des Saints-Pères", a specific branding address used exclusively by the shop between 1887 and 1900. The Work of Art is ready to hang. A desirable and collectable piece.
